The DOR Financial Services and Reporting Section is seeking a Senior Accounting Officer (Specialist) to perform professional accounting work in the establishment and maintenance of accounts payable. The Senior Accounting Officer (Specialist) is expected to consistently exercise a degree of initiative, independence, and originality in support of financial services operations and DOR’s mission.
Under the general direction of the Accounts Payable Manager, the Senior Accounting Officer (Specialist) independently performs the most complex and difficult professional accounting duties that require an understanding of the entire accounting process. The Senior Accounting Officer (Specialist) analyzes, reconciles, and prepares all types of accounts and records of financial transactions and data of complex difficulty. The Senior Accounting Officer (Specialist) will have considerable contact with accounting administrators, departmental management, district staff, or State control agencies.
The Senior Accounting Officer (Specialist) will serve in a lead capacity for the Accounts Payable unit.

The majority of the work will take place in one of the following locations with consumers, the public, colleagues, and other stakeholders: a DOR open office setting in a cubicle environment, offsite in the community, at events and various partner locations, and/or at an approved alternate work location. The incumbent must have the ability to work in an office setting for up to 40 hours per week and remain at a workstation for extended periods while utilizing a personal computer, peripherals, and other office equipment with or without accommodation. The incumbent will be working in an office setting with both natural and artificial lighting. Strong interpersonal skills are required to interact effectively with consumers, the public, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
