Job Description

VP Of Finance

Chooose is seeking a VP of Finance in the US to lead the finance function across the company as we scale. This role owns financial operations, FP&A, treasury, tax, and strategic finance and holds operational responsibility for our US subsidiary. You'll work closely with the CEO and senior leadership team on strategic finance, capital markets, and investor relations. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who wants to run a lean, international finance function and use AI to keep it lean as the company grows. This is a remote role that must be based in Illinois, Texas, Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, or Florida.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee financial operations, close, budgeting, forecasting, and consolidated reporting across international entities; own annual external audit process and external accountant and auditor relationships
  • Build board and investor reporting materials for global institutional investors
  • Support capital markets, fundraising processes, M&A evaluation, and diligence
  • Manage global cash and working capital, banking relationships, and FX exposure and hedging
  • Partner with CEO on investor relations, including reporting cadence and ad hoc investor requests
  • Hold operational responsibility for the US subsidiary, including entity governance, contract administration, state filings, and coordination with outside counsel and accountants on tax strategy
  • Implement and maintain internal financial controls and systems (accounting, ERP, FP&A tooling); scale the function through automation and AI
  • Work closely with the CEO and senior leadership team as a strategic finance partner
  • Partner with Business Development, Customer Operations, lower-carbon products (sales/trading), Legal, Engineering, and Product on cross-functional initiatives

Interview Process:

  • Phase 1 — Introductory conversations: discuss your experience and learn more about Chooose and the role in one or more remote sessions.
  • Phase 2 — Practical exercise: you'll receive a written brief in advance and present your work in a follow-up remote session.
  • Phase 3 — Management conversations: one-on-ones with each member of our leadership team in-person.

The process takes 3–4 weeks. We're committed to keeping to this timeline while ensuring we have enough time to get to know each other properly.
